Dr. Paula Gonzalez-Figueroa is a Research Fellow at the Clinical Hub for Interventional Research (CHOIR) in the College of Health and Medicine at ANU. She holds a degree in Biotechnology and earned a PhD in Medical Sciences from The Australian National University. Her postdoctoral research, conducted at The John Curtin School of Medical Research at ANU and the Francis Crick Institute in the UK, focused on the regulation of B cell responses by follicular regulatory T cells (Tfr), particularly the role of Tfr-derived neuritin in controlling pathogenic antibodies. Discoveries in fundamental B cell and T cell biology from her research have led to the ongoing development of a neuritin-based biotherapeutic for allergy and autoimmune diseases.

As a Fellow at CHOIR, she has expanded her translational research interests to include clinical trial development. She is currently leading the design of a preclinical and Phase I clinical program for hematological cancers.
