It combines the advantages of flow and image cytometry into a single instrument i.e. the speed of flow cytometry with the spatial information obtained from imaging. The image based analysis software is used for creating histograms and scatter plots and quantification of data by numerical scoring of parameters such as size, shape, texture, co-localization and intensity.
