Talo Travel Grants
Engaging with the Australian and international scientific community and with industry partners to develop a broad knowledge of computational methods and processes
Objective
The Talo Travel Grants provide an opportunity for the next generation of computational biologists to engage with the Australian and international academic and industry community to develop a broad knowledge of computational and scientific methods through exchange and training. Visiting other academic and industry centres outside the usual place of study/work is an enriching experience and an important component of career development. Grant recipients will be able to develop new skills, learn different technologies, and meet collaborators from multiple disciplines.
Applicants will be able to apply for a placement of a maximum of 4 weeks, requesting reimbursement for flights, accommodation, and food costs up to a maximum of $10,000.
Application criteria
The award is available each year to a continuing domestic or international ANU PhD student or Early Career Researcher (up to five years post-PhD) carrying out computational biology research at JCSMR.
Travel or research must be undertaken in the year the Award is granted.
How to apply
Applications are available all year round. However, one or more calls for applications will be provided each year.
Please read through the Conditions of Award and ensure you are eligible before completing the Application Form, which will need to be signed off by the hosting supervisor (if applicable) and your ANU supervisor and submitted to the Head of Centre for Computational Biomedical Sciences Computational Biology for approval.
