About
It is well recognised that there is both a strong genetic and environmental component to the development of autoimmune diseases such as SLE. However, the interaction between environment and genetic risk is not well understood. We have recently developed a mouse model that has a failure of immune tolerance, but does not develop autoimmune pathology. We have opportunities that harness this unique mouse model to understand the triggers that can promote autoimmune development.
