Professor Frances Shannon has extensive leadership and senior management experience within higher education and medical research institutes. Her background includes degrees (BSc (Hons) and PhD) in biochemistry and zoology from University College Dublin, a successful 25-year career in biomedical research, followed by 10 years in senior university management.
