Undergraduate courses and research
Overview
The John Curtin School of Medical Research hosts students undertaking research project-focused courses, including Advanced Studies Course (ASC) within the PhB (Hons) degree, and other undergraduate courses such as BIOL3208 and BIOL3209. In addition, individual JCSMR academics contribute to teaching in a variety of other courses in Biology. The administration of all these courses is by the Biology Teaching and Learning Centre.
Research topic for ANU undergraduates
Many research groups at JCSMR supervise undergraduate or postgraduate coursework students carrying out research projects associated with their program. These projects are an excellent introduction to biomedical research and offer the opportunity to get involved in projects that are at the edge of knowledge in their field.
The most common path to doing a project at JCSMR as an ANU student is to enrol in BIOL3208 Biology Research Project and choosing a supervisor from one of the three JCSMR divisions.
ANU PhB Students can also do Advanced Studies Courses with supervisors at JCSMR. The PhB coordinator for JCSMR is Dr Nikolay Shirokikh.
