Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Overview
A single four year research degree offered by the John Curtin School of Medical Research.
Most research degree courses offered are at the PhD level for students carrying out full-time research towards the production of a thesis. There is normally no assessed coursework involved, although all students are expected to attend a series of postgraduate lectures, seminars and workshops. A full-time PhD course is for not less than two and not more than four consecutive years. A part-time course shall be for not less than four and not more than eight consecutive years.
As a PhD student you will work with increased independence, under the direction of a supervisory panel of experts in the field. Your research will make an original and important contribution to human knowledge, research and development.
