Each year the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training provides funding to Universities to award scholarships to domestic and international students undertaking Higher Degree Research programs. AGRTP holders are paid a fortnightly stipend that is indexed annually. Additional benefits include paid sick leave and maternity/paternity leave entitlements, relocation and thesis allowance. Full-time AGRTP scholarships are tax-exempt. Only under exceptional circumstances are AGRTPs able to be held Part-Time.
