Identification and analysis of platelet polymorphisms associated with malaria susceptibility
Platelets represent a novel mechanism used by the host to defend against malarial infection. The project will investigate genetic polymorphisms that affect platelet function, malaria parasite killing activity and severity of clinical disease.
This project is part of the Crossing Boundaries: Molecular Interactions in Malaria Graduate School. Participants study at both ANU and the Humbolt University in Berlin, earning a dual degree. Find out more.
