Development of a molecular tool for personalised cancer treatment – a synthetic biology approach

In addition to our basic research projects, we have also developed a synthetic biology project, which we believe will have a direct and prompt impact on personalised cancer treatment. This project will potentially bridge our experience in basic research to translational clinical research. We are generating a molecular tool that can distinguish between cancer cells and non-cancer cells by detecting specific mutations in the genome, and eliminating cancer cells very specifically, without the strong side-effects of current cancer treatments.
