ATAC-seq

How it works

At the BRF, we use Active Motif ATAC-seq library preparation kits that treat intact nuclei with a hyperactive Tn5 transposase to fragment the DNA and add Illumina adapters in a single step. Samples are then barcoded with index primers, pooled and sequenced on an Illumina sequencer most suited to your output requirements.

Requirements

ATAC-seq libraries can be produced from either:

  • 20-30 mg tissue
  • 50,000-100,000 cells

The standard protocol is designed to produce up to 16 libraries from 16 samples, but we can source additional reagents for up to 96 samples. If you are planning on submitting >16 samples, let us know in advance so we can source these reagents and prepare and sequence your libraries faster.
