Equipment and software for use
The BRF holds a range of equipment and licenses of software to enable users to conduct an analysis of the results we produce. Please contact the facility if you would like more information about accessing or using the software listed.
Equipment
- GE LAS4000 Fluoimager
- Typhoon FLA9000 Phosphorimager
- Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
- Nanodrop ND-1000 UV-vis spectrophotometer (1-2µl vol)
- Qiagen universal biorobot for nucleic acid extraction
- Freeze drier
Before using any equipment for the first time, users must complete:
- an induction
- training for the specific instrument/s they wish to use.
This is a requirement of the school's Occupational Health & Safety Policy. Please contact the facility to organise induction and training. (Induction courses are regularly scheduled and appear on the Upcoming Events list on our website homepage).
There is no charge to ANU staff for using the above-listed equipment, but it is essential to book time, and you must supply your own consumables. Both of these things can be done using dnaLIMS (go to Store, and to Calendar).
