More success for life-saving food poisoning research!

18 April 2019

Ms Shouya Feng, a first-year PhD student from The John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR) has received the 2019 prize for Best Poster at the Coldspring Harbor Conference held in Suzhou, China.

Ms Feng has contributed to the groundbreaking research from the Man Group, which has uncovered how Bacillus Cereus, found in bacterial infections such as food poisoning, interacts with our immune system and how to treat it.

The bacteria is commonly found in household foods and will grow if food is not stored or reheated at the correct temperature.

Ms Feng received one of the five prizes awarded out of 74 Poster submissions - well done!
