Speaker bios

Luan Nguyen

Luan Nguyen is a seasoned genomics expert with 17 years of experience in the life sciences industry. He specializes in a range of genomics technologies, including microarrays, next-generation sequencing, and long-read sequencing. Currently serving as Business Manager APAC at Vizgen, he is playing a key role in promoting the adoption of spatial genomics in the Asia-Pacific region. He has previously held key roles at 10xGenomics, Pacific Biosciences, Affymetrix, and Bio-Rad. Mr Nguyen is a respected leader in the industry and has presented at multiple scientific conferences and events. Attendees of the upcoming “Mapping the Future with Spatial Genomics” seminar at ANU can expect to gain valuable insights from Luan’s presentation on the applications of spatial genomics in research.

Sushma Chandrashekar

Sushma has a Masters of Biotechnology from The University of Queensland, Brisbane. She has over a decade long experience working in various roles in molecular laboratories, specialising in Next Generation Sequencing and Medical Oncology. Her experience includes validating Next-Generation Sequencing panels and kits, translating diagnostic tests from the research lab to the diagnostic settings, testing clinical trial samples, including solid organ malignancies and haematological disorders. She is currently enjoying her role as a Field Application Specialist at Integrated Sciences, dedicated to supporting Vizgen’s MERSCOPE platform.
