ConeSim Home Page

‘ConeSim’ comprises a set of Matlab routines for solving the differential equations of cone transduction described in the paper:

van Hateren, J.H. & Lamb, T.D. (2006). The photocurrent response of human cones is fast and monophasic.  BMC Neuroscience 7, 34. doi:10.1186/1471-2202-7-34
Versions:  There are two versions of the program:

• The standard version is for users who have Matlab installed.
• The stand-alone version does not require Matlab, but is only available for Windows systems. Functionally it is identical, but it runs much more slowly than the standard version, and the files occupy ~24 MB.

Description:  A brief description of RodSim is provided in the Help file.

Enquiries:  Please address any enquiries to Trevor Lamb or Hans van Hateren

1) Standard Matlab version

Requirements: Matlab (The Mathworks, Inc) version 6 or higher.

Download: ConeSim Standard version for Matlab (51 kB)

Extract: Extract the files to an appropriate directory (e.g. 'C:\ConeSim'), and then ensure that this is pathed in Matlab.

Running: Start Matlab, and give the command 'ConeSim'.

2) Stand-alone version

Requirements: Microsoft Windows.

Download: ConeSim Stand-alone version for Windows (8.3 MB)

Extract:
Extract to an appropriate directory (e.g. 'C:\ConeSim'); the files will occupy ~24 MB.

Running: From Windows Explorer, double-click the program 'ConeSim.exe'.
